Tap and Pay
Simplify your payment experience with Tap & Pay, the convenient and secure contactless payment feature available on Android devices. Enjoy fast, hassle-free transactions with just a simple tap, making payments on the go easier than ever before.
Generate Debit Card
Step 1 of 3
Sign in to your mobile app and move to the cards screen
Choose the debit card you want to connect to “Tap and Pay.” Tap on the button “Create card for Tap and pay +”.

Read the instructions
Tap “Continue” to create a new debit card. You will still be able to use your existing debit card and it will not be terminated or frozen.

Add to Tap & Pay
When the card is created, tap on “Add to Tap & Pay” and continue with the steps to start using Tap and Pay.
Add card via the Bank al Etihad app

Sign in to the app, move to the "Cards" screen
Choose the card you want to connect to Tap and pay - either your Prepaid card or your debit card. Tap on “Add to Tap & Pay”, and you will be directed to Tap and Pay introduction screen

Read the pop-up screen
Tap "Continue" once you finish reading the pop-up screen, you will be redirected to the terms and conditions.

Agree to "Terms and Conditions"
Read the terms and conditions carefully and make sure that you agree to them before you tap on "Continue"

Verify your identity using biometrics
Prior to making any transaction, you will be asked to verify your identity using biometric authentication within the app.
Contactless limit

Tap on "Card settings"

Upon tapping on the "Card settings" option, you will be directed to a screen where you can modify the contactless limit for Tap and Pay or choose to disable it entirely
You have the ability to manage the daily purchase limit using Tap and Pay. By default, the limit is set to 300 JOD, but you can adjust it to a maximum allowed limit of 5,000 JOD.
